An ascent against the clock, animated by “La Montagne de Lure” the emblematic mountain of the Haute-Provence.

From Saint-Etienne-les-Orgues, this ascent of 18 km / 11 ¼ miles with an average gradient of 5,8 % cross a diversity of country side and offering some magnificent view points over the surrounding area of “le Pays de Forcalquier”, the Durance valley and the Alpes.

The circuit is adorned with messages of encouragement and tourist information.

This challenge is open to large numbers. Depending on the sportive level and the time taken for the ascent, you will come away with your gold, silver or bronze certificate of achievement.

To bring up the challenge, download the app “Challenge de Lure” on your smart phone (Apple and Android).

Good to know : 

The Lure Challenge is open to everyone.

If you don’t possess a compatible smartphone, the inter-communal tourist office puts out for rental and at your disposal, iPhones and iPhone back up for bikes.

Rental Cost

  • IPhone + back up : 8 €
  • Back up only : 3 €

For rentals you are also asked for :

  • A caution cheque of 500 €.
  • 1 document of identification for French nationals and 2 documents of identification for foreigners.

The Tourist Offices are happy to receive you from :

  • All Year : Tuesday from 9h to 12h. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9h to 12h and from 14h to 18h.
  • July - August : from Tuesday to Saturday from 9h to 12h and from 14h to 18h.

Reservations can be made in advance by sending a letter or email to the “Office de Tourisme Intercommunal".

This reservation is valid upon receipt of rental payment.
