This stretch is a true mountain stage that leads, from the Verdon Valley, to the high lakes of Lignin and to the highest point of the route, the Drop du Strait at 2472 m!

The warm-up on the Col des Champs road quickly gives way to a mountain trail in a balcony, then descending, sinking into the heart of a massif littered with high peaks.

The continuation of the climb leads to the elevated pastures and the spectacular plateau of Lignin lakes.
The stage is hard but the landscapes are exceptional.

Attention, this section and the following are only to be realized by melting the snow, in good weather conditions and with good physical and technical condition! It can be avoided using the valley variant between Colmars and Thorame Haute.
